if you want a PDF copy of the current software manual, please send a request via e-mail to Diagnosys LLC
Download Technical Manuals
Registered Espion users can download technical manuals for all Diagnosys’s products from the Espion restricted web-site. These manuals contain full circuit schematics, wiring diagrams, build procedures and modifications but do not include any fault finding references. To access the restricted web-site, you will need a username and password which must be obtained from Diagnosys. When you have these, simply click on the following link: diagnosys restricted web-site
Download Interbase Installation Programs
Registered Espion users can download the current Interbase database server and windows client install programs the Espion restricted web-site. These programs allow you to install a separate interbase client or server/client system on another PC (provided you have the necessary Interbase and Espion licences). To access the restricted web-site, you will need a username and password which must be obtained from Diagnosys. When you have these, simply click on the following link: diagnosys restricted web-site
Download Utility Files
* All Espions with Celeron CPUs and clock speeds greater than 400MHz contain Boser CPU cards. All other Espions contain Inside CPU cards and drivers must be obtained from Diagnosys directly.
Download Program Update Files
NOTE: Do not update V2 with V3 software with patch files. You must install V3 with at least a partial format. Please read the installation instructions before installing the new software!!!
For more information about the update/patch formats, goto software update format.
Always make a copy of your ESLOCAL.INI file in your ESPION directory before installing/patching new software!!!
Download Windows XP Update Files
NOTE: These files must be downloaded and installed when upgrading the Espion console to Windowsd XP. Please see the FAQ page for more information about upgrading
Download Protocols
Below are a collection of protocols which run on Espion software V3 and higher and are designed to ISCEV standards. To install the protocol into the current connected database of your Espion program, download the protocol file and copy onto your console. Next go to the “Database Center” menu within the Espion program and from here press the “Transfer In” button and select the protocol file to import. The protocol will now appear in the current list of protocols available.

ISCEV standard VEP 3 channel protocol. Oz, O3, O4, positive down, 5 steps: 15mins, 30mins, 60mins, 120mins and 300mins
ISCEV EOG REV 3 (EXT TRIG)
External Trigger
3 (build 19 onwards)
3
Similar to EOG protocol above, except it produces a trigger pulse on the external trigger output to trigger a 3rd party EOG LED system.

Download User Defined Files
Below are a collection of user defined waveform files for custom control of the ColorDome/ColorBurst stimulators. Files may be edited in any ASCII editor e.g. Microsoft Wordpad or Notepad or a spreadsheet such as Excel. To run any file, download, and copy into the Espion directory. Display the stimulus menu and select the “User Defined” flash mode. Then enter the filename and press the apply button to see the stimulus.

User defined files.pdf [53kB]
Document describing how to write user defined ColorBurst and ColorDome scripts to create your own stimulus waveforms (V3 only)
vector.col
ColorDome/ColorBurst
Define a color CIE vector between two CIE end colors and sinusoidally traverse the vector at 1Hz. (This may not work on all systems)
formula.col
Dual ColorDome/ColorBurst
Similar to “vector.col”, but defines a vector between red and green and if dual stimulators selected, the outputs will be 180 degrees out of phase. This is an example using a complex formula rather than explicit ms timing blocks
longsine.col
ColorDome/ColorBurst
Example of a very long stimulus. This produces a 10 second sinusoidal red output
pulse.col
ColorDome/ColorBurst
Example of user defined variables. This stimulus produces a pulse with variable mark/space timing, intensity and color all of which can be controlled from the stimulus menu
xenon.col
ColorDome
Example of double pulse xenon flash with variable flash intensities, and inter-flash period
sine.col
ColorDome/ColorBurst
Produces red, green and blue sinusoidal outputs at 1Hz, 2Hz and 3Hz simultaneously
